Install and first connection

Installing Mecra takes about 40 seconds and needs no administrator rights. Because it is a new app you may see a warning in two places. Both are expected, and both are explained step by step below.

1. Download the installer

   Only use the "Download" button on this site: Mecra-Kurulum.exe (Windows 10/11, about 130 MB). Never install Mecra from files sent to you on another site, in a message or in a shared folder. You can verify your download with the SHA-256 hash on the Trust center.

2. If Windows shows a warning

   When you open the installer, a blue window may say "Windows protected your PC".

   Why? Windows SmartScreen shows this warning for new apps that have not yet been downloaded by many people. Mecra is new, so it currently falls into that group.
   1. Click "More info".
   2. Press the "Run anyway" button that appears.

   This is an illustration; wording varies slightly between Windows versions. If you downloaded the file from this site you can continue safely; if you got it anywhere else, choose "Don't run".

3. Complete the setup wizard

   Mecra opens when the installation ends. On first launch a short setup wizard and a product tour welcome you.

   In the trial and on "Bring your own keys" plans you enter a Gemini key and a Pexels key; both are free and every row in the app has a direct link. "AI Included" plans need no keys.

4. Connect your YouTube channel

   Press Channels → Connect; a browser opens, you pick your Google account and approve the permissions. Mecra asks for:

   • Uploading and managing your YouTube videos
   • Viewing and editing your videos' captions and comments (for example adding a thumbnail and captions to an uploaded video)
   • Read-only access to your YouTube Analytics reports

   Google may show a "Google hasn't verified this app" warning at this point.

   Why? Mecra's Google verification is in progress and this screen will disappear when it completes. Until then you can continue with the two clicks below.

   2. Click "Go to Mecra (unsafe)", review the permissions and continue.

   The app is requesting access to sensitive info in your Google Account. Until the developer verifies this app with Google, you shouldn't use it.

   This is an illustration; wording varies slightly with your Google account's language. Only do this for the permission screen you opened from the Mecra app; never click through this Google warning for another app or site.

   You can remove the connection at any time from your Google account permissions page. Your keys and channel data are stored only on this computer; see the Trust center for details.

5. Produce your first video

   On the Produce page choose your channel and the format, write a topic (or pick one from Trends) and press "Produce and publish". With the free trial you can produce your first 5 videos, no credit card needed; trial videos are watermarked and are not uploaded to YouTube automatically (the file stays on your computer).
